SPEAKER of Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor has stated that it will sustain its partnership with relevant stakeholders to advance the MORE agenda of the state government.
Guwor gave the commitment yesterday while playing host to a group, Coalition of Academics For Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Receiving the group in his office in Asaba, the Speaker called on Deltans, irrespective of political affiliation to throw their weight behind the MORE agenda of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori administration, saying that the socio-economic development of the state should be a collective responsibility.
While commending the group for supporting the vision and leadership of the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Speaker enjoined them to leverage their positions as academics to spread the message of Renewed Hope in the nooks and crannies of the state.
“I thank you for partnering the state government in advancing the MORE agenda. It is not about you or the governor, but the entire state. In the Delta State House of Assembly, we work in synergy with other arms of government to ensure the overall well-being of Deltans.
“I want to assure you that we will work closely with you. As legislators, we are out to change the narrative, ensuring that our people benefit from the policies and programmes of the state government.
“As Speaker of the State House of Assembly, I can tell you convincingly that the State Governor is doing wonderfully well and deserves much commendation”, Guwor said.
Coordinator of the group, Prof. Lawrence Omo-Aghoja told the Speaker that they were in his office to appreciate him for his leadership of the DTHA, praising him for the synergy between the executive and legislative arms of government.
