THE Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has been commended for his commitment to support global and local efforts in combating health challenges of the citizens across the state.
A Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Protocol, Mr. Samuel Fejokwu made the commendation soon after he visited the health centre at his home town, Onicha Ugbo where he expressed satisfaction with the quality of healthcare and drugs at the health centre and others by the state government.
Mr. Fejokwu, who described Governor Oborevwori as a seasoned democrat, revealed that Deltans irrespective of tribe, religion or ethnicity would experience dividends especially in the health sector.
He recalled the recent commitment by the state to collaborate with both global and local investors and agencies to eradicate sickle cell disease (SCD) in the state, adding that it was is a testament of exemplary governance and proof of a caring governor that had the interest of his people at heart.
Fejokwu, while addressing youths and women of the area, enjoined them to reciprocate the gesture of the governor by ensuring massive support for the administration and also to avoid being used by any sweet tongue-coated politicians who had no interest for their well being, but rather to use them for their selfish interest and later dump them.
The SSA remarked that his boss, the governor, is friendly and a promise keeper, adding that so many persons can testify to the several infrastructure development going on across the state. He noted that the projects would pave the way for a second tenure in office for the governor.
He used the occasion to thank the people, especially the traditional ruler of the community, HRM Agbogidi Obi Victor Chukwumalieze 1 and his council of chiefs for their continuous support to the present administration and urged them to continue to maintain the tempo.
