Education Board: World Teachers’ Day Celebration In Delta State

THE Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Delta State wing, is set to celebrate World Teachers’ Day in grand style. The event, scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 5, 2024, will have in attendance notable dignitaries, including:

Special Guest of Honour, His Excellency, Rt Hon. Sheriff Francis  Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, Guests of Honour, Delta State Commissioners of Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu(Secondary),Dr Kingsley Ashibuogwu (Primary),,Head of Service ,Sir Reginald Bayoko,

National President, NUT, State Chairman, NUT, Comrade Titus Okotie, State Secretary, NUT, Comrade Dan Basime , NLC Chairman, PPEB Chairman, SUBEB Chairman, NTI, TRCN, Federal Ministry of Labour & Productivity, NUT Elders Forum (Delta State wing)ALGON and all professional teachers across the 25 local government areas of the  state

The programme of events will be as follows;

Welcome Address  by the State Chairman, NUT;*Comrade Titus Okotie, Keynote Address*: by the National President, NUT; Governor’s Address  by His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori. It will also feature Awards and Recognition for outstanding teachers across the 25 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

Goodwill Messages  from the Head of Service and Commissioner will spice the occasion.

Teachers’ Forum

According to the State Chairman, Comrade Titus Okotie, special forum will be held for teachers across the 25 LGAs, to discuss pressing issues affecting the education sector in Delta State. This session aims to provide a platform for teachers to share their experiences, challenges, and suggestions for improving education in the state.

Closing Ceremony

The event will come to a close with a closing ceremony, featuring cultural performances, March Past, presentations and a vote of thanks by the Secretary, Comrade Dan Basime.

The World Teachers’ Day celebration promises to be an enriching experience for all attendees, providing opportunities for networking, capacity building and recognition of outstanding teachers.
