DTSG Partners US Doctors On Free Medical Outreach

A team of medical experts comprising over 30 doctors from the United States of America today arrived in Delta State for a weeklong free medical outreach.

The team under the auspices of Nifer Touch Life Foundation and Sunshine Care Initiative were received by the state Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and his wife, Dcns Tobore Oborevwori at the Government House, Asaba.

The state government represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme assured the team that maximum security had been put in place to ensure their safety.

In his words, “The state is passionate about health matters and that is why we are glad to collaborate with these groups in delivering extensive healthcare to our people”.

The Convener of Nifer Touchlife Foundation, Hon Mrs. Mine Aragbata-Etuk who is also the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Diaspora Affairs, said the foundation was born out of passion for the less privileged.

According to her, the outreach would last for one week within the Ethiope East Local Government Area, emphasizing that the medical care would be delivered without bias or prejudice.

The outreach would commence on Monday at Osubi and would conclude at Obiaruku.

On his part, the Chairman of Sunshine Care Initiative said the outreach would involve various levels of body examination, surgeries, X-rays and blood tests.

According to him, medications would be given free of charge to patients involved.

They would also visit orphanages around the area to end the programme.

The outreach is powered by the Nifer Touchlife Foundation and Sunshine Care Initiative in collaboration with the Delta State Government and the You Matter Charity Foundation.
