IN a move towards improving healthcare access for vulnerable populations, the Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC) has successfully registered 182 individuals into the Indigent Enrollee Adoption Initiative (IEAI), championed by Hon. Solomon Funkekeme.
The Director-General, DSCHC, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, said that the initiative was aimed at providing comprehensive health insurance coverage to indigent residents, who otherwise cannot afford medical care. Through Hon. Funkekeme’s support, enrollees across various communities in Delta State will now benefit from essential health services under the state’s contributory health scheme.
In his remarks, the Director-General, who was represented by the Director Planning, Research, Statistics and ICT, Dr. Emmanuel Akpofure lauded the sponsorship of the beneficiaries, describing it as a timely intervention that aligned with the state’s commitment to universal health coverage.
He noted that the 182 beneficiaries were drawn from Asaba, Ojobo, Warri, Tubegbe and Torugbene, all across the state.
Akpoveta also encouraged other well-meaning individuals and organizations to emulate the gesture by adopting indigent enrollees in their communities.
Speaking on behalf of the sponsor, the Coordinator Deaconess. Onome Adaka applauded Hon Funkekeme Solomon for his kind gesture in ensuring broader access to quality health care.
She applauded the commission for their great work , as she prays that more people key into the program for a better Delta.
Highlights of the event, was the presentation of health ambassador plaque to the sponsor, Hon. Funkekeme, and the presentation of cards to beneficiaries.
