Digital Revolution: No Deltan Should Be Left Behind —Guwor

BY ANDREW IKEHI

Underscoring the import of contemporary global digital revolution, the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. (Hon) Emomotimi Guwor is persuaded that No Deltan, particularly the youth bracket should be left behind.

Rt. Hon. Guwor, who said this at the 3rd edition of the Delta State Social Media Summit in Asaba, called for collective efforts towards enhanced socio-economic growth and development of the State through digital literacy and unhindered access to technology.

According to him, the state legislature would continue to advocate for policies that support digital literacy, infrastructure development, and access to technology. This, he said, would ensure that no Deltan is left behind in the contemporary digital revolution.

Represented by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr. Nkem Nwaeke at the summit, Rt. Hon. Guwor who is the National Treasurer, Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, said that the State legislature under his watch, would continue to create a conducive environment for digital innovations to thrive.

Commending the organisers for their proactive dispositions, Rt. Hon. Guwor noted that the theme of the summit, “Brand Delta Grow Delta,” is in line with the aspirations of the state to not only tell our unique story but to leverage that narrative to create opportunities and foster prosperity, just as he he enjoined participants to take full advantage of the discussions and networking opportunities.

He said, “Beyond branding, it is gratifying that this summit rightly places emphasis on “sustainable development and job creation.” It is imperative that we use social media as a platform for empowerment.

“Through strategic engagement, skill acquisition, and innovative thinking, our youths can become content creators, digital marketers, entrepreneurs, and influencers who drive economic diversification and reduce unemployment. “The Delta State Assembly, under my leadership, is committed to creating a conducive environment for these digital innovations to thrive.  “The Assembly will continue to advocate for policies that support digital literacy, infrastructure development, and access to technology, ensuring that no one is left behind in this digital revolution”

“In this age of rapid technological advancement, social media has evolved far beyond its initial role as a platform for personal connection.

“Today, it is a dynamic engine for economic growth, social awareness, political engagement, and cultural promotion.

“The theme of this summit, “Brand Delta Grow Delta,” is in line with the aspirations of our state to not only tell our unique story but to leverage that narrative to create opportunities and foster prosperity.

“Delta State is endowed with rich natural resources, vibrant cultures, and an enterprising population, especially our youth.

However, the true potential of these assets can only be unlocked when we adapt to modern tools and technologies.

“Social media offers us a powerful avenue to project a positive image of Delta State, showcasing our investment opportunities, cultural heritage, innovations, and human capital to a global audience” Rt. Hon. Guwor said.
