Delta Woman Battles Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Seeks Urgent Financial Aid

BY SAM DUVWODE

RUTH Ishioma Enakerakpo, a 27-year-old wife and mother of a five-month-old baby, is currently facing the fight of her life after being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

Ruth, who is a native of Umutu in Ukwuani Local Government Area, Delta State, is urgently appealing for public support to fund her critical medical treatment.

According to Ruth, while fielding questions from newsmen, her ordeal began when she suddenly fell ill, initially mistaking her symptoms for common ailments like malaria or typhoid. Despite receiving treatment, her condition worsened, leading to a series of tests that confirmed the devastating diagnosis of AML.

Her doctors have emphasized the need for immediate treatment, including essential medications, transfusions, and a stem cell transplant to give her a chance at recovery.

Currently admitted at Celltek Healthcare Medical Centre, Benin City, following a referral from Lily Hospital in Warri, Ruth describes the journey as overwhelming, both medically and emotionally. The financial burden is equally daunting, with treatment costs estimated at ₦58.4 million, an amount far beyond her family’s means.

“I am weak and in pain,” Ruth shared in her heartfelt appeal. “I humbly plead for your support. No amount is too small, and your prayers mean just as much to me.”

The public is urged to rally behind Ruth in her fight for life, offering financial contributions, prayers, or any form of support to help her overcome this life-threatening illness.

Ruth has provided a GTBank account (0467584742, Ngbonyebi Ruth Ishioma) for donations to support her treatment. She can be reached directly at 09060279131, while her husband, Stephen Enakerakpo (07087198990), and her elder sister, Adumali Princess (08165651439), are also available for contact.
