THE newly elected executive members of the Students Union Government (SUG) of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, have been advised to discharge their duties with the fear of God and shun actions capable of causing crises.
The Rector of the institution, Prof. Emmanuel Achuenu, gave the advice shortly after their election.
While congratulating the winners on a successful election, he said there must be winners and losers in every election, urging the losers to see elections as a game and to be gallant losers.
He called on all the contestants, both winners and losers, to join hands, work in unity as a team to move the polytechnic to greater height s , describing the election as peaceful. Achuenu said the online election was one of the best he had witnessed within a student environment.
He lauded the Deputy Rector, Dr. Joy Anho, who was involved in the electoral process from its beginning to conclusion, the Dean of Students Affairs, Mr. Franklin Agetue, the ICT personnel and all the staff that worked assiduously to ensure the success of the election.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Agetue, who was the chief electoral officer described the election as free and fair.
The newly elected executive members include: Comrade Thomas Godswi l l , President , Comrade Ofuezuem Anwuli, Vice President, Comrade Obioma Miracle, financial Secretary, Comrade Ifeanyi Onotu, Director of Sports, Comrade Nwanodu Micheal, Director of transport, Comrade Orisa Precious, Director of welfare.
Others are Comrade Igbeni Micheal, NADESTU president, Comrade Abamba Dumebi , Secretary General, and Comrade Ijeoma Isitua, Director of welfare.
