THE Delta North Traditional Rulers Forum has passed a vote of confidence in Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, describing him as a man of the people.
Rising from their quarterly meeting held yesterday in Owa-Oyibu, the monarchs in a five-point communique signed by the Chairman, HRM Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor, gave the Governor a pat on the back, saying his two years in office have witnessed tremendous socio-economic and political growth in the state.
They urged all Deltans to join hands in supporting the MORE Agenda of Governor Oborevwori, underscoring the need for a more equitable distribution of democratic dividends across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The kings used the occasion to congratulate the Governor on the second anniversary of his administration, assuring him of their unflinching support in the years ahead.
“Within two years of your visionary leadership, you have sustained the legacy of your predecessor, Sen Ifeanyi Okowa, of maintaining a cordial relationship with, and respect for traditional rulers from Delta North extraction. We particularly acknowledge and appreciate your humility and deliberate policy in carrying us along in your administration.
“We salute your wisdom in this regard and pray that God will continue to give you the strength and courage to sustain your transformation of the state, via the instrumentality of your MORE Agenda.
The monarchs appealed for urgent government intervention to stern the tide of insecurity, saying that the people were currently living in fear and could no longer go to the farm for fear of being kidnapped or killed.
The communique called for greater unity among the royal fathers, emphasizing the need for them to speak with one voice on issues of common interests to the people as that was the only way they could tackle the challenges facing the various kingdoms and communities within the district.
