Delta Monarchs Pledge Support Towards Protection Of Critical National Assets

Delta monarchs have admonished the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to adopt a more decisive and pragmatic security architecture in protecting critical National assets and property.

Rising from a meeting of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council (DSTRC) in Asaba, presided over by the First Vice Chairman and Pete of Akugbene Mien, Pere S P Kalanama V111, the monarchs underscored the importance of protecting all assets owned by the Federal Government from vandalism, tasking security forces to re- strategize and brace up with the challenges of protecting oil installations in the maritime space and other national critical infrastructure across the country.

In a five – point communique delivered by the First Vice Chairman, Pere SP Kalanama V111, the monarchs also charged the Joint National Transport Safety Committee of Nigeria to be proactive in protecting road infrastructure to guarantee the safety of commuters who travel daily by road across the country.

The monarchs congratulated the Delta State Governor, Rt, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on the successful hosting of the 9th edition of the National Youth Games (NYG), adding that the state has left indelible foot prints in sports in terms of infrastructure and overall performance.

The Council members had received in audience the Commandant – General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Chinedu Fabian Igbo who solicited for the prayers and support of the royal fathers in the area of information to enable him succeed in his assignment.

Also received in audience was the Executive Chairman of the Joint National Transport Safety Committee of Nigeria, Eng , Amb., Mogbojuri Taiwo.

The meeting was attended by traditional rulers from across Delta State, including the 2nd Vice Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council and Obi of Ubulu – Unor, Agbogidi Henry Kikachukwu 1 ( PhD) and the immediate past Chairman of the Council and Obi of Owa, Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor 11.

Also in attendance was the Ovie of the great Ijerhe Kingdom, Monday Ovie Whiskey, the Odurhie 1 among others.
