Delta Mobilises Candidates For Police Recruitment Exercise

THE Delta State Government has called on all indigenes of the state who successfully completed online applications for the nationwide recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables to participate fully in the forthcoming physical and credential screening exercise.

The government said the exercise represents a critical stage in the recruitment process and urged applicants not to treat the invitation lightly, stressing that only candidates who comply with all screening requirements would proceed to the next phase.

Speaking in a statement released yesterday, Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, emphasised the importance of early preparation and strict adherence to official guidelines.

“Applicants must immediately visit the official recruitment portal to confirm their status and print all required documents ahead of the screening dates,” he said. “This exercise is structured and time-bound, and candidates are expected to appear only on the dates specified in their invitation slips.

“Any failure to comply with documentation or dress requirements may lead to automatic disqualification. We therefore advise candidates to approach the process with seriousness and discipline. The state government remains committed to ensuring that qualified Delta youths are properly guided throughout the recruitment process.”

The screening exercise, organised by the Police Service Commission in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, is scheduled to take place nationwide from March 9 to April 18, 2026.

Candidates are required to present key documents, including their Guarantors Form, Application Submission Slip, Invitation Slip, Credential Screening Form, and Physical Screening Form, at their designated screening centres at the time indicated on their invitation slips.

Dr Oghenesivbe further stated that applicants must come along with their Invitation Slip bearing assigned tables, original National Identity Number (NIN) printout or NIMC-issued card, O’ Level certificates such as GCE or SSCE, birth certificate or declaration of age, as well as certificates of the state or local government of origin.

Specialist applicants, he added, are expected to provide relevant professional or trade test certificates to validate their areas of specialisation.

According to the statement, all credentials must be neatly arranged in two white flat files with recent passport photographs attached. Candidates are also mandated to appear at the screening venues dressed in white T-shirts, white shorts, white canvas shoes, and white stockings, in line with established recruitment protocols.

The Bureau Chief noted that the recruitment initiative aligns with the employment and wealth creation objectives of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori under the MORE Agenda, which prioritises youth empowerment and access to sustainable career opportunities.

The state government encouraged eligible Delta applicants to take advantage of the opportunity, comply fully with instructions, and conduct themselves responsibly throughout the exercise as they pursue careers in national service.
