Senior Management Staff in Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the state government have been charged with the responsibility of organizing their Departments into units to ensure that everyone is carried along and accounted for in the discharge of their duties.
The Head of Service of Delta State Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, gave the charge during an interactive session with members of Staff of some Departments in the office of the Head of Service in Asaba.
The HoS, who observed that some staff were overwhelmed with assignments while others had no assignment at all, requested that Heads of departments should submit their Staff Disposition List (Nominal Roll) and Organogram to her Office for review.
Emphasizing that each department should be organized into Units so as to ensure that every Officer has a job description in a unit and in a department, she stated that the exercise of getting the departments organized in units was to improve efficiency and reduce redundancy in the office.
Commending the Director of Personnel of the Senior Management, Mr Williams Ogolokpe whose Organogram had a very clear job description, the Head of Service maintained that more responsibilities would be given to Assistant Directors for the enhancement of their managerial skills.
The Departments of Personnel, Middle Management, Public Service Matters, Computer Center were amongst those who submitted their Nominal Rolls and Organograms for review by the Head of Service.
