Delta Central PDP Empowers Youths, Women

THE best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ughelli North, Ughelli South & Udu Federal Constituency has marked a new chapter in its history with a series of political events that signal the party’s rebirth and renewed commitment to reclaiming its lost glory.

The events, which included the U3 Youth Empowerment and Leadership Summit, the inauguration of the PDP U3 Media Ambassadors, the PDP U3 LGA Executives Empowerment Summit, the inauguration of the U3 Legislators Forum, and the empowerment of PDP women leaders by the Olotu and Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete Foundation, demonstrated the party’s determination to win back the federal constituency in 2027.

These strategic initiatives have galvanized the party’s base, making it alive, vibrant, and ready to reclaim its lost glory. By empowering women, youths, and leaders, Dr. Akpodiete has demonstrated a clear vision for the party’s future, one that is inclusive, dynamic, and people-centric.

The events took place at federal constituencies, and was attended by notable PDP members, including Chairmen and Executives of the three LGAs, showcased the party’s unity and purpose.

Dr. Olotu Akpodiete, a former House of Representatives aspirant and convener of the events, emphasized the party’s commitment to reclaiming its lost mandate.

The U3 Youth Empowerment and Leadership Summit saw youths from across the constituency pledge their support for Dr. Akpodiete as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 elections.

The Ughelli South LGA Youth Leader, Hon. Stephen Ashiemuke, appreciated the Convener and moved a motion for a vote of confidence on him, which was seconded by the Ughelli North LGA Youth leader, Engr. Benedict Onovughakpor.

Dr. Akpodiete on his part, appreciated the youths for their commitment to the party, and urged them to work together as a team in preparation for the 2027 elections.

The inauguration of the U3 Media Ambassadors also marked a significant milestone in the party’s efforts at strengthen its communication machinery. By equipping media practitioners with the necessary skills and tools, the party is well-positioned to disseminate its message effectively, counter opposition narratives, and promote its achievements.

The media team was charged to be watchdogs for the masses and to promote the party’s image and activities. The U3 Legislators Forum, which brings together former councilors, has the potential to be a game-changer in the party’s quest to reclaim the federal constituency.

By providing a platform for legislators to share ideas, collaborate, and develop strategies, the forum can help drive legislative initiatives that benefit the people and promote the party’s agenda. The forum, led by Hon. Patrick Bodosika, promised to work as a formidable team to win the 2027 elections.

The Olotu and Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete Foundation also empowered PDP women leaders with cash, wrappers and gifts in the constituency, demonstrating the party’s commitment to empowering women and promoting their participation in politics.

The women were encouraged to spread the party’s good news and to stand firmly with the party in 2027. Dr. Akpodiete emphasized that the program aimed to scale up the welfare of the party and demonstrate its strength.
