Dear Governor: Amori Applauds Initiative, Promises Government Attention

By Joelson Eboh

The Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ighoyota Amori, has commended Pastor Tobore David, Senior Pastor of Salt City Church, Warri, for his initiative in convening the forthcoming statewide event tagged “Dear Governor.”

Senator Amori gave the commendation when he received Pastor David in audience at his office in Asaba.
The “Dear Governor” event, slated for October 1, is designed to bring together some of Warri’s brightest minds who have made remarkable contributions in various fields, to engage in a constructive conversation on issues affecting the state.

According to Pastor David, the event will be more impactful if the government is represented at the forum.
“We want to come together and start a conversation. So, I’m thinking, what if somebody in the government is around, hearing what we have to say.

“We are not a pressure group or partisan in any form or shape. We are not looking for sponsorship or financial assistance towards this event. I’m from Delta State, likewise the speakers at the event. We have taken this upon ourselves as our role, our contribution to what the Delta State Government is already doing,” he explained.

In his response, Senator Amori lauded the effort, describing it as a platform for generating ideas and solutions to challenges facing the state.
“I want to commend you sincerely for the initiative and the effort you are making to organize this. I see this as a place where ideas will be conversed and solutions known,” he said.
The Chief Adviser assured the convener that his request would receive due attention, noting that the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is a listening government that encourages initiatives aimed at improving the state.
