- Hails Ogbe-Ijoh Monarch At 10th Coronation Anniversary

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has lauded the visionary and unifying leadership of the Pere Ama-Okosu of Ogbe-Ijoh, HRM Pere Couple Markson Oromoni, as the monarch marks a decade on the throne.
Speaking at the 10th coronation anniversary celebration of the revered traditional ruler, the Governor, who was represented by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor described the monarch’s reign as a remarkable period of peace, progress, and development for the kingdom and the state at large.
Governor Oborevwori said that over the past 10 years, the Pere of Ogbe-Ijoh has demonstrated “exceptional leadership characterised by extraordinary acumen, wisdom, and allegiance to the well-being of his people,” noting that his reign has strengthened unity among the people and fostered mutual understanding with neighbouring communities.
He credited the monarch’s commitment to dialogue and conflict resolution for sustaining peace and stability within the kingdom, a feat he said had attracted much-needed development to the area.
“Your Royal Majesty, your visionary leadership has brought us to this milestone, and we have confidence in your ability to navigate the complexities of the future. Like previous administrations, this government will continue to work with you to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and create a more prosperous and harmonious Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom,” Oborevwori assured. The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting traditional institutions, improving socio-economic indicators, and promoting inclusive growth across Delta State.
He urged residents of Ogbe-Ijoh and all Deltans to embrace the values of peace, unity, and cooperation to achieve greater progress.
Calling on leaders across clans and communities within the kingdom for more support, Governor Oborevwori charged them to consolidate the gains made in the past decade and confront emerging challenges with wisdom and innovation.
“We should embrace our diversity and leverage our collective strengths and talents to drive growth and development. As we celebrate this 10th anniversary of resilience, strength, determination, and progress, we are reminded of the enduring spirit of unity and cooperation among Deltans,” he added.
Governor Oborevwori further expressed gratitude to the monarch for his selfless service, noting that his tireless efforts had advanced the welfare of his people and the interests of the Ogbe-Ijoh.
“Your Majesty, you are a beacon of hope and inspiration to our people. May Almighty God continue to guide and bless you, as we look forward to many more years of peace, progress, and prosperity under your reign,” the Governor said.
“Long live His Royal Majesty, King Couple Markson Oromoni Monbene III, Pere Ama-Okosu of Ogbe-Ijoh. Long live the Ogbe-Ijoh. Long live Delta State. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
The event drew dignitaries, traditional rulers, community leaders, and indigenes from far and near, who joined in celebrating the milestone in the history of the Ogbe-Ijoh.
