A car wash operator, simply identified as Macavier was at the weekend killed by gunmen suspected to be cultists in Edo State.
It was gathered that the deceased was killed in his car wash spot located at airport gate along the Airport-Oko-Ogba-Irhirhi road.
It was learnt that the deceased was killed in a renewed supremacy battle between the Maphite confraternity and the Black Axe also known as Ayes in Benin City.
It was also gathered that the gunmen stormed the area in an unmarked vehicle, dashed into the vehicle after accomplishing their aim and zoomed off after firing into the air to scare people. The Edo State Police Command confirmed the incident when contacted.
The Public Relations Officer of the Command, Moses Yamu said: “We are on the trail of the perpetrators to bring them to justice.”
Recall that since the renewed cult war in the state, no fewer that 10 persons have been reportedly killed and police have arrested 95 suspects, out of which 64 have been charged to court and remanded.
