THE Circulation Manager of The Pointer Newspapers in Warri and environs , Peter Awharhievwie, has called the authorities concerned to reinstall the traffic lights at the ever busy Enerhen Junction, Enerhen in Uvwie Local Government Area.
Awharhievwie who lives in Orhuwhorun community in Udu Local Government Area but whose office is located along Effurun/ Sapele, made the call in a media chat with our correspondent at the weekend .
He noted that Enerhen Motel Junction is an important route between Uvwie and Udu Local Government areas as such there is heavy traffic mostly during rush hours .
Awharhievwie recalled that traffic lights at the said junction helped in no small way in decongesting the heavy traffic volume then, just as he complained that the traffic lights have stopped functioning long before the construction of the multi billion naira flyover project in the near byEnerhen Junction.
He stated that the absence of the traffic lights has worsen vehicular movements at Enerhen Junction even with not too regular presence of government traffic control officials, as he noted that government traffic control officials were often absent on duty during rush hours mostly in the evenings .
Awharhievwie who noted that absence of the traffic lights is dangerous, also noted that the traffic lights are needed now with the on going flyover project in Enerhen Junction.
