Ashibogwu Commends NUT’s Contribution Towards Educational Development In Delta

THE Delta State Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu, has commended the efforts of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), towards the growth and development of education in Delta State.

The Commissioner gave the commendation when members of the committee set up by the NUT, Oshimili South Local Government Area Chapter, visited the commissioner in his office in Asaba.

According to the Commissioner, the effort of the union towards the development of education has been exemplary.

He assured members of the committee that the ministry would always partner with the union whenever there is a need to do so.

Ashibogwu enjoined the union not to relent in its efforts towards adding value to the educational system across the State.

He added that the ministry would present the union’s request to the appropriate authority for inclusion in next year’s budget, as he described the project as a laudable one.

“Your continuous partnership with the state government towards the actualization of the MORE Agenda has yielded fruits that can be seen by all.

“As a government, we acknowledge your place and we thank you for that, as I enjoin you not to relent.

“I am assuring you of our support at all times especially when the need arises.

“For your request, I must say it is a laudable one and capital intensive. As a ministry, we will include your request as part of the proposals for consideration as we prepare for the next budget,” Ashibogwu said.

Earlier, the Chairman of the committee, Comrade (Mrs) Eunice James, said that they were at the Commissioner’s office to intimate him of their proposed building of an administrative office for the smooth running of the union and seek the ministry’s financial assistance towards the actualization of the project.

The committee members were received by the Commissioner in company of the Functioning Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Daniel Akiru and the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics (DPRS), Comrade Ernest Ossai.
