The Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Hon (Barr) C.S Possible Ajede has reiterated his administration’s commitment to the security and safety of the lives and property of Ukwuani citizens.
Barr. Ajede gave the assurance while addressing the Obiaruku Traditional Rulers Council at the Okpala-Uku Palace.
He noted that following the series of strategic security stakeholders’ meetings, Obiaruku and the neighboring communities were already under strong surveillance.
Speaking further, the local government boss reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring peace and tranquility across the local government area, even as he added that law enforcement agencies and military personnel have been deployed and detailed to ensure total law and order in the council headquarters.
Meanwhile, as part of efforts to strengthen intelligence gathering and effective surveillance of the area and particularly Obiaruku community, Barr Ajede announced that the local government has procured over 50 walkie-talkies and security flashlights.
According to him, these gadgets will be distributed to various segments of the Obiaruku community for effective policing under the Neighborhood Watch and other strategic security networks initiated at the security meeting today.
In their collective response, the Obiaruku Traditional Rulers Council commended Barr. Ajede for his prompt responses to security challenges across the local government area and for his unparalleled, pragmatic, and proactive approaches in tackling issues.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Hon (Barr) C.S Possible Ajede, has joined members of Christ the King Catholic Church, Obiaruku, as His Lordship, Most Rev’d (Dr.) Anthony Ovayero Ewerido, the Catholic Bishop of Warri Diocese, dedicated both the completed church building and Our Lady of Apostle Catholic School building to the glory of God.
During the ceremony, the Ukwuani chairman congratulated the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Christopher Ekabo, and members of Christ the King Catholic Church on the completion of the building project, which was embarked upon 12 years ago.
Dignitaries present at the dedication included Sir Fidelis Okenmor Tilije, Commissioner for Finance, Delta State; Chief Isaac Onyesom; Mr. Andy Atuma; Hon. Oscar Solomon Osakwe; Comr. Chukwunalu Joseph; and many others.
