Dr. Chidi Lloyd, Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area Rivers State, has announced a bounty totalling N3 million for each abductor and N2 million for actionable information, following the kidnapping of five Rivers State University (RSU) students from their off-campus residence. The dramatic announcement comes amidst a severe security crisis that has forced the temporary closure of the university’s Emohua campus.
Recall that the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, December 2, 2025. According to police and student accounts, around 2:30am, a group of approximately five armed men, suspected to be cultists, stormed an isolated off-campus student lodge in the Rumuche/Rumuohia community.
Emohua LGA Chairman Dr. Chidi Lloyd made his bounty announcement and a series of pointed remarks.
Lloyd issued a stark warning to students, urging them against “living extravagantly” and advising them to be “careful about the friends they keep”. He claimed to have “credible information about the behaviour of some students” and stated that those involved would be investigated.
