The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Udu Local Government Area, Delta State, has held its general meeting amidst renewed enthusiasm at the party’s Secretariat, Otor-Udu, drawing party leaders, stakeholders, and faithful from across the 10 wards of the local government area.
The meeting served as a rallying point to strengthen unity, reaffirm commitment, and lay a solid foundation for the party’s activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
The high point of the event was the formal inauguration of the ward executives, a development described as timely and strategic in deepening the party’s grassroots structures. Each ward executive was officially presented and charged to uphold the ideals of the PDP by ensuring inclusiveness, mobilization, and loyalty to the party.
The ward Chairmen are Ward one, Pressly Onobraekpeyan; Ward two, Ulo Edwin; Ward Three, Sele Ufuoma; Ward Four, Igboki Henry; Ward Five, Ochuko Best; Ward Six, Onos Augustine; Ward Seven, Saiki William; Ward Eight, John Kurame; Ward Nine, Lucky Igho, and
Ward Ten led by Barr. Agreh.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon Kenairu Johnbul Aghogho, Udu PDP LGA Chairman commended members for their steadfastness despite political challenges, stressing the need for collective efforts to sustain the PDP’s dominance in Udu.
He reminded the new executives that leadership is a call to service and urged them to work in synergy with the local government area leadership to deliver on the party’s mandate.
Former House of Representative aspirant for 2023 elections, Hon. Dr. Olotu Akpodiete, appreciated the PDP LGA Chairman and the Excos and party members for standing for the party in the midst of the challenges, and charged members to be united ahead of 2027 elections.
He also said since defections of some members to the APC, internal democracy has been restored to the PDP, including more empowerment programmes that are coming for the party executives at both the LGA and federal constituency.
The meeting ended on a note of “New dawn”, as party leaders and members pledged their commitment to work together as one indivisible family, ensuring that the PDP remained formidable at both the local and state levels.
