Igbo Socio-Cultural Group Earns Praise From Oborevwori, Nwoko

The Ndi Nasu Bia Social Cultural Organization have received commendation from the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the Senator representing Delta North in the National Assembly, Hon. Ned Nwoko for addressing identity crisis among the indigenous people of Igbo.

Oborevwori, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Government House, Johnson Erijo, gave the commendation while declaring open a two-day conference organized by the Igbo Unification Movement in collaboration with Ndi Nasu Bia socio cultural group in Asaba.

He described the gesture as one worthy of emulation by others.

He disclosed that the state government was running an all-inclusive administration devoid of marginalizing any section of the state.

On his part, Nwoko expressed hope that every other group in the state would emulate the unification movement.

“The time has come for us to fully embrace our true identity, stand shoulder to shoulder with our brothers and sisters across the Niger, and reclaim the dignity that was once distorted by war and survival”, Nwoko said

“This is not about politics or personal ambition. It is about justice, fairness, and correcting historical imbalances. My dream remains clear and that is the creation of Anioma State, with Asaba as its capital, where an Ndokwa son or daughter can one day become governor”, he said.

“We cannot shy away from who we are. Just as a Chinese man remains Chinese anywhere in the world, so must Anioma proudly rise its identity”.

While commending the Igbo Unification Movement and Ndi na Asu Bia for their courage and consistency in championing this course, he said their work was helping their people reconnect with history and identity.

He disclosed that his belief in Igbo unity is the reason he is pushing for the creation Anioma State and called on the people to give their support whether not minding whether the state would be in the South-South or South-East.

Speaking, the Chairman, Local Organizing Committee  (LOC) and Patron of Ndi Nasu Bia Socio Cultural Organization, Chief Cosmas Agada, described the group as an Igbo nationalism organization duly incorporated in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs in 2020.

Agada said that the group membership was drawn from all Igbo subgroups and communities across  three geopolitical zones of North-Central, South-East and South-South and spread across diaspora Igbo Communities in America, Asia, Europe, the Caribbean etc.

According to the LOC Chairman, the group, which was inspired by the Igbo philosophy of Onye aghala nwanne ya, identifies indigenous Igbo communities engaging the elders and youths with the objective  of helping them to resolve their identity crisis, thereby helping them to fully realize their true Igbo identity.

Highlighting their achievement as a group, he said they carry out minor infrastructural projects in the communities.

“We aim to build Igbo philosophy of Igwebuike, as we believe the sociocultural, economic and political advancement of Ndigbo lies critically in our unity irrespective of our unity dialectical variations. Ndigbo are one people”, he said.

Earlier in his welcome address, the President, Ndi Na Asu Bia Socio-Cultural Organization, Kingsley Kainebi urged Igbo people to  stand together as one united ethnic group, speaking with one voice.

He also appreciated the LOC for their dedication.

The event featured presentation of lectures by renowned professors and the unveiling of Ndi Nasu Bia Television.
