ACOMIN Urges Delta To Address Shortage Of Staff, Power Supply In PHCs

A Non-Governmental Organization; Civil Society Organization on Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) has appealed to the state government and the Delta State Primary Healthcare Development Agency in particular to address the issue of inadequate staffing in various PHCs across the state.

Speaking during an advocacy visit to the Executive Director of the agency in Asaba, the State Program Officer of ACOMIN, Juliet Obiajulu stressed the need for government to tackle the challenges confronting the healthcare facilities in order to ensure quality service delivery.

Obiajulu specifically informed the agency of the non- functional solar light at Umuonaje PHC in Oshimili South Local Government Area and the leaking roof and spoilt facility door at Egini PHC in Udu Local Government Area.

Accompanied by the state Coordinator of ACOMIN, Pastor Greg Sifo,  and some community- based organizations,  Obiajulu also told the chieftain of the agency that government should install prepaid meter at Ugbomanta Health facility in order to ensure proper metering.

Earlier,  the Executive Director, Delta State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Paul Yinkore had commended  ACOMIN team for the visit , assuring that the state government would take the concerns raised to ensure proper healthcare services to the people.
