AFTERMATH OKUROWHE COMMUNITY WOMEN PROTEST: Okugbeni Elected As New PG

Just less than three weeks after Okurowhe Community women in Okpe Local Government Area protested against Chief Augustine Ogedegbe on his continue stay as the President-General for over 14 years, the Community members have elected Mr. Edafe Okugbeni as the new President -General of the Community.

The election, which was supervised by Mr. Thinkist Owhe Oniowo, Ochuko Vincent and Anthony Umukoro, took place at Okurowhe Community.

Others elected include Michael Egbashe – the Vice President; Ufuoma Owhe -Secretary – General, and Godday Okah – Treasurer.

Among those who witnessed the peaceful election were Thinkest Owhe Ovuowo, Vincent Ochuko Omare, Anthony Umukoro, Victor Okah, Johnson Okah, Benson Okah, Joseph Jroroerhwo, Friday Nunu, Mrs Lawra Temisan , Believe Okitikpi and Others.

In a chat with newsmen, the new President-General, Mr. Edafe Okugbeni, while thanking the people for finding him worthy to pilot the affairs of the Community, promised that he will not disappoint them.

Also speaking to Journalists, the second eldest man of the Community, Pa Vincent Omare, expressed confidence that the new President -General, Mr. Okugbeni will perform well.

He, therefore, advised members of the Community to give him the needed support that will enable him to succeed.

Also speaking to Journalists, another elder from the Community, Mr. Thinkist Owhe Ovuowo, said that all hands must be on desk to give the necessary support to the new executives to take the Community to the next level.

In his contributions, Mr. Victor Okah said the the new leadership of the Community is a blessing, and advised the people to rally round them to enable them to succeed.
