Ezewu Orders Immediate Withdrawal of Vice Principals’ Postings

BY JUMAI NWACHUKWU

THE Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, has directed the Post-Primary Education Board (PPEB) to immediately withdraw the recent appointments and postings of 328 vice-principals across the state.

In her directive, the commissioner cited procedural irregularities and emphasized the need for a thorough review before such appointments can be finalized.

Ezewu said that in light of the ongoing screening exercise being conducted by the Civil Service Commission, the postings are considered invalid and must therefore be withdrawn immediately.

She warned that any principal found to have acted improperly in the process would face appropriate disciplinary action.

Highlighting the need for due process and merit-based placements, the commissioner underscored the importance of aligning administrative decisions with the state’s broader educational reform agenda.

She explained that the move is part of a larger effort by the ministry to enhance administrative accountability and improve leadership standards in public secondary schools across Delta State.
