Obi Innocent Maduabunachukwu 11 is the traditional ruler of Abah-Unor Kingdom, in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State. He is a well-known traditional ruler with the love for his people, Delta and Nigeria generally. He is well educated, always seeking the best for his people. He spoke recently with Ifeanyi Omenogor after a community meeting with his subjects, where he sued for peace, the need to attract more development to the kingdom, the Governor Oborevwori’s administration, 2027 general elections and other issues. Your Majesty, you held a meeting with your subjects today, what is happening?
Yes, we just had a meeting, where we discussed issues of mutual understanding, progress and development of the community.
I used the opportunity to call on the people of the area to continue to live in peace and unity to attract more development to the community and the state in general. Because we have no other place; this is our home, so we must develop it.
We the people of Abah-Unor are peace loving, we fear God and always speak the truth, hence I am urging them to continue to live as one and be their brother’s keeper, because we all know that development does not go to a place of rancour and disunity.
So, I am using opportunity to call on investors to take advantage of the peaceful nature of our community to come and invest and create more jobs and enhance development in the area.
What do you think can be invested on in your community?
Thank you very much for this question. You see, we have very vast land, where agriculture can take place. Investors can also come here and establish their industries and produce items that would be taken to the cities for sales, in doing this, you are creating jobs and developing the area.
On Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration so far
I commend the exemplary and quality leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, I can say he is a visionary leader that has the interest of the entire state at heart. Within two years, the entire state is feeling the positive impact of the state government under his leadership through the MORE Agenda.
I will say he has done well so far, but I urge him not to relent in doing what is right for Deltans because Deltans are appreciative of his good works.
Ahead of 2027 general elections, what do you have to say?
The Governor has done and as I said before, my subjects and other Deltans will appreciate him by voting for him come 2027.
So, I am saying my people will continue to support the Governor for the purpose of development of my community and the entire state.
Do you have any request from the governor?
Yes, I want to appeal to the state Governor to renovate some schools in my community to provide better and comfortable teaching and learning environment.
We are also appealing to the government for more development infrastructure in line with the MORE Agenda of the government, create more job opportunities for the young ones and ensure more security for economic and social life.
Message for your subjects
They should be law abiding and have the interest of the community in their hearts, that is they should contribute to the peace, unity and development of Abah-Unor and the state in general.
Therefore, I use this occasion to thank and appreciate the Chief Executive Officer of MIO Group of Companies, Architect Ikechukwu Odide for his generosity to the community development.
Architect Odide is an uncommon philanthropist that has brought succour to many home, his kinds are rare on the planet earth.
Likewise, I laud others whohad contributed in one way or the other to the general good of the community, I appeal to sustain their support to community and god will continue to bless them.
Obi Maduabunachukwu said Odide presented one hundred bags of rice and ten cartoons of tomatoes each to the eleven Communities that made up Nsukwa clan last December.
Your general advice for Deltans
Deltans are peace loving people, they should support and pray for our dear Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for God to give him the strength and wisdom of Solomon to lead the state to the promised land.
