The Delta State Commandant of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Mr. Chinedu Igbo has deployed about 1293 officers across the state to ensure a hitch-free Christmas and New year celebration.
The officers deployed were drawn from various Specialized Units such as the Armed Squad, Disaster Management Unit, Anti-Vandal Unit, Counter Terrorism Unit, Tactical and Component Units. The Rapid Response and Patrol Teams covering the three Senatorial Districts have also been mandated to ensure watertight security before, during and after the Yuletide season.
According to a press release issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer (CDPRO), DSC Anthony Uchenna, the newly reorganized Female Squad teams will be on routine patrol of major towns within the three Senatorial districts all through the yuletide.
He noted that Commandant Igbo who is known for his dexterity in the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI), has put all measures in place to ensure that all Critical Assets of Government throughout Delta State are adequately protected; this includes coverage of all Oil and Gas installations and 24hrs surveillance and patrol of the 1st and 2nd Niger bridge.
As stated in the release, the State Commandant, used the opportunity to encourage Deltans to go about their celebrations without apprehension as the NSCDC in collaboration with other Security Agencies will leave no stone unturned to ensure that miscreants and other criminal elements are apprehended and brought to book until a Safe Delta is achieved.
