THE wife of the Governor of Delta State, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori has donated food items and cash gifts to women of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Koko, headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area.
The ceremony, which was held at the APC Party Secretariat, witnessed a large turnout of party women from all the 20 wards in the council area.
Addressing the huge gathering, the local government Chairman, Festus Ashima, welcomed the women and thanked the wife of the state governor for her show of love and empathy by sending the items to enable the women celebrate Christmas.
Ashima described the state Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, as a symbol of unity in the state by his principle of equity, fairness and love shown to all Deltans, adding that by the developmental strides of the Governor in just about three years, it was obvious to all that the voice of the opposition no longer exists in the state.
The local government chairman described anyone still in the opposition as a noisemaker, even as he tasked the women to propagate testimonies of the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda.
While thanking the Governor for the road projects, especially in the riverine communities in Warri North, Ashima said the roads in Kolokolo-Tisun and that in Ogbinbiri-Ogbudugbudu would soon be completed and commissioned.
Among others who spoke at the ceremony were the wife of Warri North Chairman, Mrs Omasan Ashima; Warri North APC Chairman, Mr Omatseye Akatakpo, and Warri North APC woman leader, Mrs Oghomiriona Flora.
The high point of the ceremony was the rendition of a Christmas Carol and the distribution of food items, which included rice, spices, tin tomatoes, as well as cash offers to ease their burden during this festive season.
