Why Omo-Agege Should Jettison Governorship Ambition -Onwusanya

Former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Peter Onwusanya has joined in the call on Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to jettison his governorship ambition and support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to continue till 2031.

He said this will ensure political stability as the governor will pursue his impactful MORE Agenda programmes to a logical conclusion and ensure that Delta Central hands over to other Senatorial zones that are in a hurry to serve.

Speaking in a chat with journalists in Asaba, while reacting to the earlier call made by chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta, Senator Peter Nwoboshi and Olorogun Morrison Olori advising the former President of the Senate to rethink his ambition, he averred that politicians in the state had already queued behind the incumbent.

According to him, it might amount to a political suicide for Senator Omo-Agege to attempt governorship of the state at this period that Rt. Hon. Oborevwori is the political bride to all Delta politicians, adding that the governor and the President, Senator Bola Tinubu had already been endorsed by all for 2027.

The former speaker, who is the Onwa of Asaba, acknowledged that Senator Omo-Agege is a reputable politician whose contributions as a member of the APC will enhance the chances of the party and the governor in 2027, and reiterated his call on the former member of the National Assembly to support Governor Oborevwori for 2027.

He pointed out that Deltans were happy with the performance of the Governor and will pay him back with the 2027 ticket and ensure his victory at the polls.

Chief Onwusanya attributed the prevailing peace across the state, infrastructural projects that dots the nooks and crannies of the local government areas and the benefits enjoyed by workers to the humane and focused leadership of Governor Oborevwori.

He enjoined Deltans to remain steadfast in their support for the governor and ensure that he emerges victorious, promising to continue to mobilise support for the governor to succeed in governance and second term bid.
