TRAGEDY has struck in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, directly at the gate of the State School of Nursing, as a woman was trapped beneath a truck following a harrowing accident.
According to eyewitness accounts, the woman was riding on a personal motorcycle alongside her husband and child in the early morning of the fateful day, when the incident occurred. The husband reportedly managed to rescue himself and their child from the wreckage, but the woman was not as fortunate as she was trapped under the truck. It was gathered that as at the time the accident occurred, sympathizers at the scene lifted the truck in order to extricate the woman , but she was already dead.
At the time our correspondent got to the scene, the remains of the woman had already been deposited in the mortuary, while, the husband and child were taken to the Central Hospital, Agbor, .where they are currently receiving medical attention.
Meanwhile, sympathizers have lamented how precious lives are being lost daily to accident mainly caused by break failure. They appealed to road safety officers and other security agencies to help checkmate drivers to see that the vehicles plying our roads are roadworthy.
