THE Director General (DG) of the National Sports Commission (NSC) Chief Bukola Olopade has given every needed assurance that all needed effort would be intensified to make the 9th edition of the National Youths Games a huge success than as ever experienced.
Olopade said this at the Technical Meeting held at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba after the inspection of facilities for the Youth Games that will kick off on August 26, 2025, barely three weeks from now.
The DG who was represented by the Director, Grassroots Sports Development, National Sports Commission, Chief Amaka Asheofu said that Delta has been very conversant with the provision of materials for the games both at the Youth Games and the National Sports Festival and he has no fear that the facilities would have been full provided before the kickoff date.
The reports of the inspections were very promising as the all agreed that various minor renovations and some provisions would put the venues in perfect order.
The 9th National Youth Games in Asaba, has been slated to commence on August, 26th and will be concluded September.6th 2025.
The meeting ended very peacefully but with a difference on the inclusion of some sports including Baseball and Softball as well as deaf Tennis and para weight lifting.
While the Committee members are asking for the inclusion in the games the host State, Delta appeal that there is inadequate accommodation provision as one of the places that was used last year that accommodated over one thousand athletes is currently under renovation.
