TWO suspected burglars have been caught with bunches of master keys by vigilante members of Otovwodo (Agbassa) Community along Ometan Road, Warri.
The Chairman of Otovwodo (Agbassa) Community, Comrade Onoriode Onogun, who spoke to our correspondent, narrated that the suspected burglars were caught along with two other youths by the community’s vigilante team, who were on security patrol in the early hours of the day.
Onogun alleged that the suspected burglars admitted that the bunches of master keys were used to open the doors or stores of their victims with ease at odd hours of the day.
The chairman further claimed that the suspects confessed to returning from an unsuccessful operation at a popular plaza when they were apprehended.
According to Onogun, the two suspects were immediately handed over to the police for further investigation. He added that the other two young men apprehended alongside them were released after proving their innocence.
Onogun disclosed that the community youth executives have pledged to assist the police in monitoring late-night movements in Otovwodo (Agbassa) and other areas under the community’s jurisdiction in Warri. He stressed that anyone found wandering after midnight in these areas would be apprehended and handed over to the police.
He therefore advised parents to warn their wards and children to heed the new security measures.
