Stand As Pillar Of Peace, Devt-Delta Gov Tells Traditional Rulers

DELTA State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on traditional institutions in the state to continue to stand as pillars of peace and development. Governor Oborevwori made the call yesterday while presenting the official Staff of Office to His Royal Majesty, Agbogidi Obi Michael Ogechukwu Osemedua Isichei II, the Obi of Ubulu-Okiti Kingdom in Aniocha South Local Government Area, Delta State.

The governor who was represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, noted that, traditional institution remains a vital part of society. “It preserves our values, promotes peace, unity and supports development at the grassroots.” Oborevwori stated.

The governor assured that his administration will continue to embark on projects that directly benefit the people. According to him, his administration will prioritise drilling of boreholes to provide reliable access to potable water across various communities.

Governor Oborevwori while congratulating His Royal Majesty, Agbogidi Obi Michael Ogechukwu Osemedua, Isichei II, the Obi of Ubulu-Okiti Kingdom on his ascension to the throne, expressed his administration’s high regard for traditional institution, especially royal fathers, whose leadership continues to strengthen their communities. According to him; “I warmly congratulate His Royal Majesty on his ascension to this esteemed throne. Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Obi and reaffirms the strong cultural heritage and identity of this great kingdom.”

These activities reflect the hardworking nature of the people and it endorses the kingdom as an important contributor to the Delta State economy.

progress already made in roads, schools and other projects, shows our commitment to rural development. I assure you that we will continue to embark on projects that directly benefit the people.”

children across communities in the State.”

“I understand the urgent need for clean and safe drinking water in Ubulu-Okiti. Water is life and no community should depend on unsafe sources. My administration will prioritise the drilling of boreholes to provide reliable access to potable water across various communities.”
