TRAGEDY struck at Onicha-Ugbo community in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, where a man whose identity is yet to be made public was beaten mercilessly by commercial sex workers in a brothel.
Eyewitnesses told our correspondent that the young man, about 26 years old, came to one of the brothels in the morning to enjoy himself. Unfortunately, things got messy after he went into the room with one sex worker whose name was not mentioned.
‘’Suddenly, after a series of sex romp, noise emerged from the cubicle and the boy was seen trying to free himself from the girl’s grip, but the drama changed when the boy suddenly shouted as the girl held his organ’’ the witness said.
Eye witnesses further said that over 50 sex workers quickly descended on the young man and beat him beyond recognition, and while onlookers tried to intervene, one of the girls smashed an empty bottle on the boy’s head, which led to profuse bleeding.
The owner of the brothel, Mr Nnamdi Okeke, was not there at the time the fracas broke out, but later came back to meet the incident, while every effort made to calm the situation was abortive until the arrival of a local vigilante on patrol.
The sex worker, on getting a chance, took to her heels when it seemed that her client was dead; meanwhile, the young man was said to be responding to the treatment at the time of filing this report, but was seriously injured.
One other resident, who gave his name as Okwudili Eke, suggested that there was no need for a brothel to be located at the entrance of a community, stressing that a lot of evil is practised by the sex workers and their patrons.
