Okorodudu, Anyangwu Lead Staff To Celebrate Okuwe’s Birthday In Grand Style

  • Urge staff to emulate his honesty, hard work, dedication

The Executive Director, Projects (EDP), Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, alongside the Member representing Ika Nation on the Board of DESOPADEC, Hon. Mrs. Cordilia Anyangwu have led staff of the Directorate of Projects to celebrate the Executive Assistant, Projects, to the EDP, Engr. Tony Okuwe on his birth anniversary at the Commission’s Head Office in Warri.

Dr. Okorodudu, while acknowledging the dedication to service, honesty, hard work and track record of service in the Commission of the celebrant, urged staff to emulate his virtues.

“When I was appointed, his name kept on recurring when people came to welcome me and to brief me on how I can effectively carry out my job in the office. Tony is a man whom you can trust anytime, any day. He is a workaholic like me. There was an instant when I requested for a file and he delivered it to me around 5 o’clock in the morning,” he said.

Congratulating him on his birthday and praying for more success in the future, Dr. Okorodudu said Engr. Tony is a staff that can be trusted even in terms of financial prudence and honesty in dealing with people, which may have informed the Board to create an office of the EA for him to bring his wealth of experience to bear in the Commission.

Also, the Member representing Ika nation on the Board of DESOPADEC, Hon. Mrs. Cordilia Anyangwu affirmed that Engr. Tony had attributes of a near perfect staff of the Commission, noting that in so many instances, she had relied on him to resolve issues relating to projects in her mandate area.

“Engr. Tony is a very humble staff. He is reliable and always ready to resolve issues if and when they arise. I wish him more wonderful celebration and more upliftment,” she said.

The Director of Administration and Supplies (DAS), Princess Mrs. Precious Abugewa also congratulated the celebrant, saying that in her early days in the Commission, she was opportune to work with him at the Directorate of Infrastructure.

“All that I know about projects today, I learnt from him despite not being an Engineer. He is a father and a teacher. He encourages you in all ethics of work,” she said.

Staff, who spoke, congratulated the celebrant and attested to his sagacity and knowledge of work ethics and ability to deliver.

The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of photo portraits to Engr. Tony by the Office of the Directorate of Projects.

Others who were present include Engr. Elliott Olokor, Head Projects Monitoring and Evaluation (PME); Engr. Friday Money, Head of Works; Engr. Onokpasa, SA to EDP, DESOPADEC; Mr. Festus Ifowodo, Head Utilities Department; Engr. Bright, PA to EDP; Engr Collins Okorodudu, Technical Assistant to the EDP, amongst others.
