The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government, Hon. (Elder) Godwin Ogorugba, has presented starter packs to beneficiaries of the first batch of the Digital Skills Training Programme in the area.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ogorugba explained that the initiative aligned with the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, which focuses on empowering citizens and driving economic growth.
“Our administration remains committed to empowering our people. This skills acquisition programme is just one of the many initiatives we have implemented to equip our citizens with the tools they need to succeed, in line with the Governor’s MORE Agenda,” he said.
He encouraged the beneficiaries, stressing that the skills they have acquired will not only boost their economic opportunities but also enhance their self-esteem and confidence.
Ogorugba further announced that an empowerment programme for elderly women will commence soon, following the commissioning of ongoing council projects.
Highlighting his administration’s achievements, he noted significant progress in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment since taking office.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Chairman, describing the gesture as a life-changing opportunity as they were presented with laptops and cash.
The event was also attended by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Barr. Chief Evelyn Aluta, the Secretary to the Local Government, Secretary APC, Isoko North Chapter, councillors, supervisors, and other aides.
