SOME concerned residents of Ogedegbe Street, off Cemetery Road, Warri have appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the rehabilitation of the road in the street.
They made the appeal whiule speaking with our correspondent in Warri at the weekend.
One of them , Stanley Apah, a carpenter, lamented the deplorable state of the road, particularly at the entrance of the street, off Cemetery Road.
He complained that the said potion of the road is flood-prone and that it was a no go area whenever it rains.
Another respondent, Madam Eguriase Otuedor, a petty trader, made a similar complaint as she said that commercial vehicle owners, especially tricycle (keke) riders were avoiding Ogedegbe Street due to its deplorable state.
Otuedor also said that drivers in Ogedegbe street were forced to park their vehicles outside the street owing to the bad spots.
Alex Okolojo, who also lamented over the poor state of the road, stated that Ogedegbe is an important route to McDermott Road from Cemetery Road. The automobile mechanic further complained that Ogedegbe is the only street that suffered neglect in terms of construction and rehabilitation among others in the area such as Ereku, Obire and Sido. He stated that the beleaguered street is the closest to the Warri City Township Stadium. Okolojo, therefore, added his voice to the appeal for the rehabilitation of the road.
