SENIOR Policy Adviser to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, has described the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as an audacious vision.
Rt . Hon. Solomon, who disclosed this in an exclusive interview with The Pointer. yes terday, said Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda i s a promi se to do more while consolidating on the achievements of his predecessors.
‘’The MORE Agenda-Meaningful Development , Opportunity for All, Realistic Reforms and Enhanced Peace and Security calls for an urgency of service delivery. According to him, the realisation of the MORE Agenda led to the revitalisation of SERVICOM in the state. ‘’We cannot achieve MORE if we do not sensitise the people on the tenets of good service delivery.
‘’Who are the executors of the MORE Agenda? The civil servants who must work with the political class. So, the starting point was to revamp SERVICOM. SERVICOM is not a new concept, but it was moribund. So, the Governor decided to review it.
‘’So, I have gone round with my team across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state to re-launch, revamp and resuscitate SERVICOM. It is a social contract between the governor and the governed.
“So, SERVICOM is a vehicle for achieving the MORE Agenda because more has been promised and more will be delivered. More cannot be realised if the executors, the vision helpers, do not understand the MORE Agenda.
‘’SERVICOM has been revived by Governor Oborevwori as a vehicle to achieving and realising the MORE Agenda”, he said, adding that local government councils have also been involved in the sensitisation campaign.
Whi le ident i fying some challenges of effective service delivery across MDAs, he said he has partnered with the Office of the Head of Service to ensure accountability in service delivery.
