Oborevwori Cautions State Media Workers Against Sabotage

Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has assured of a sound and operational broadcasting station to effectively propagate the MORE agenda, while cautioning against sabotage from staff.

Governor Oborevwori, who was represented by the Commissioner for Information, Dr Ifeanyi Osuaza gave the assurance during the third edition of DRTV Public Service Award in Warri.

“This administration has been very committed and determined in our efforts to address the operational challenges of DBS Warri and provide both logistics and operational support and ensure that our initiatives and accomplishments are not only disseminated in Warri but indeed in Delta Central and South which defines the primary scope of its reach.

“This administration remains very committed to ensuring that this station remains afloat and continues to deliver on its mandate areas. I want to assure you that we will not relent in our efforts to see that DBS remains on-air and continues to entertain, educate and more importantly inform Deltans and the global community of the accomplishment of how the MORE agenda is impacting positively the lives of Deltans”

“As a government, we are very conscious of the fact that a fully functional state media establishment will contribute tremendously towards promoting and propagating the actions and achievements of the MORE Agenda’’ Governor Oborevwori added.

Governor Oborevwori who stated the management of DBS Warri can attest to his commitment and determination in the upliftment of the station, however, warned “Let me use this opportunity to caution staff of DBS Warri, that while this administration is fully determined to provide adequate equipment for the station, we will not tolerate any act of calculated sabotage, vandalism or deliberate act to wreck damage or destroy facilities which government will install in an attempt to obstruct our efforts.

“Let me also admonish staff of DBS Warri to eschew acts of disobedience, insubordination, irresponsibility, poor work ethics as well dereliction to duty” Governor Oborevwori added.

While congratulating the awardees, Governor Oborevwori said “I do not doubt that the award will not only bring some personal satisfaction that your efforts are appreciated. It will also motivate you to continue excellence and encourage you to make a greater impact in our society”

The General Manager of DBS Warri, Malcolm Oteri in his keynote address at the event called for the support of Governor Oborevwori in the actualization of the dreams of the station.

Oteri had earlier traced the DRTV Public Service Award to the initiative of the Commissioner for Information, Dr Ifeanyi Osuaza while he was the Chairman of the Board of DBS, Warri in 2020.

The Chairman of the board of DBS, Chief Moses Odibo also appealed for financial assistance for the upliftment of the station, while the Chairman of the event, Chief P Y Biakpara lauded DBS for rewarding the excellence of the awardees.
