No Crack In Delta APC —DTSG

BY PATRICK MGBODO

THE Delta State Government yesterday reaffirmed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State remains a united and formidable front, committed to ensuring the victory of all its candidates in future elections across all levels. This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu while briefing journalists in Asaba on developments in the State.

Aniagwu, accompanied by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, said since April 28, 2025 when the entire political structure of the state moved into the APC, several engagements have been ongoing at various levels to further strengthen the unity within the party.

‘’So, the leadership of the party, under the guide of our Governor saw the need to further integrate at the statewide level so that these different consultations can give birth to a more cohesive body.

‘’So, everybody who you can call a notable politician was available at that meeting. They were very pleased with the governor’s performance and at the end of that meeting, there was a motion moved by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development that the Governor and the President will enjoy the total support of all members of the party.

‘’That endorsement is coming ahead of the 2027 general elections. It is on the premise that the Governor has performed and he is still performing.

They believe that the President, through whose policy the governor has access to deliver on life-touching projects, also needed to benefit from the support given to the governor.

‘’It was a unanimous endorsement at that meeting where everybody who mattered in the political equation of Delta were present, except for maybe one or two individuals who must have taken permission to be absent’’ Aniagwu said.

He dismissed allusions that the absence of a few individuals at the meeting which held at the Government House in Asaba signalled disunity within the party, adding that the party has continued with consultations across the state to build a stronger bond among members.

‘’Since April 28 when we fused with our brothers in the APC, we have been very much involved in lot of consultations at the ward level, local government level, federal constituency level and at the senatorial level. All those consultations are to build a stronger bond.

‘’Even after the stakeholders meeting at the state level, you must continue to manage different interests. Politics is about interest management. Even if you are in the same political party for 20 years, each year throws up certain interests and you must manage those interests’’ Aniagwu said.
