The National Association of Aniocha/Oshimili Students (NAAOS Nationwide) is to hold its National Cultural Day Conference on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Dennis Osadebay University, Anwai (School Field), Asaba, with the theme “Oganishu” and the topic “The Role of Traditional Institutions in Nation Building.”
The annual event, themed “Oganihu Enuani! Ya Ka Anyi Chor”, aims to celebrate the rich cultural identity of the Aniocha and Oshimili people while emphasising the importance of traditional leadership in fostering unity and national development.
According to the organisers, the conference will commence with a red carpet at 9 a.m., followed by the main programme at 10 a.m. Guests and participants are expected to appear in Akwaocha, (white native attire), and royal beads, a reflection of the region’s proud heritage.
The NAAOS leadership noted that this year’s Cultural Day would not only showcase indigenous music, dance, and arts but also spark meaningful conversations on how traditional institutions can contribute to peacebuilding, social cohesion, and moral revival in contemporary Nigeria.
The National traditional leader (Obi) and President, HRM Agbogidi Sindi Mathias Chigozie reaffirmed the association’s commitment to promoting the values, customs, and traditions that define the Aniocha and Oshimili identity, urging all students and community members to attend and celebrate with pride.
He explained that the association had been canvassing for youths and students involvement in voting as their right and enjoined the leaders and elders of Aniocha/Oshimili to support them to get a voice for the youths/students.
