Delta State Government, which recently approved a plethora of projects across the three Senatorial districts, will not leave out any part of the state as the MORE Agenda is work in progress.
The Chief of Staff, Government House, Asaba, Hon. Prince Johnson Erijo, gave the assurance when a delegation of the Ogwashi-Uku Youth Development Association (OYDA) paid him a courtesy visit.
He said the State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has repeatedly maintained that he was elected Governor to serve all Deltans and is passionate about transforming every part of the state through the instrumentality of the MORE Agenda of his administration.
Erijo noted that recent EXCO approvals far exceeded those of previous administrations, while the number of projects and the spread were quite remarkable, pointing out that projects were not only awarded, 40 percent mobilization was earmarked for the contractors.
The Chief of Staff said many communities that could not feel the presence of government in the past due to difficult terrains had benefitted from the approvals and were highly appreciative of the Governor for remembering them in the scheme of things.
He thanked the Ogwashi-Uku youths for the visit and assured them that their community would some day be listed among beneficiaries of projects, while urging them to remain peaceful and supportive of the Oborevwori administration.
On the crisis in the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, Hon Erijo thanked the youths for their concern, revealing that government had stepped into the matter and would soon bring the situation under control.
The Chief of Staff, while responding to the issue of insecurity, especially as it concerned the menace of herdsmen, said government was working assiduously with the security agencies to enhance peace and security in the state, in line with Governor Oborevwori MORE Agenda
Earlier, the President – General of the Ogwashi-Uku Youth Development Association, Mr Chiedu Stanley, said the visit was to express the group’s concern about the crisis rocking the Governing Council of the Delta State Polytechnic in the locality, as well as the issue of insecurity linked to herdsmen.
He told the Chief of Staff that they supported Governor Sheriff Oborevwori before and during the 2023 elections, and would continue to support him for his good work, while appealing to the state government to site some projects in the community.
