THE Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Isaac Agbateyiniro, in a bold step to strengthen governance and accelerate development, has transmitted four landmark bills to the Legislative Arm of the Warri South Local Government for consideration.
The bills, which cut across infrastructure, public safety, recreation, and economic development, are expected to set new standards in service delivery and improve the overall wellbeing of residents.
The bills include: Warri South Building/Construction Bye-law 2025 – to regulate building standards and promote safe, orderly urban growth; Warri South Compulsory Use of Life Jacket Bye-law 2025 – to safeguard lives in riverine communities by enforcing safety practices on waterways.
Others are; the Warri South Freedom Square Bye-law 2025 – to provide a framework for the effective management and preservation of the historic Freedom Square; and Warri South Rainbow Economic Hub Bye-law 2025 – to stimulate commerce, investment, and entrepreneurship through a modern economic hub.
Agbateyiniro stated that the proposed laws reflect his administration’s commitment to sustainable development, improved public safety, and economic empowerment. He noted that when passed, the bills will reposition Warri South as a model of growth and innovation within Delta State.
The bills have been formally laid before the Legislative Arm and are expected to undergo debate and scrutiny before passage into law, he added.
