Ika South LG Boss Harps On Godly Parenting

BY PAUL EGEDE

AS the world marks 2025 National Children’s Day, the Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior has urged parents, teachers, and religious organisations to prioritise Godly parenting and moral guidance in raising children.

The Chairman’s message, which was contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Jonathan Onwuka, said celebrating the children gives them a sense of value and being loved.

He noted that children are the future of any nation, and therefore, should be protected and well-guided to be able to assume the positions and responsibilities that come with nation-building.

The chairman stressed the importance of raising Godly children and urged parents, teachers, religious organisations, and the government to ensure the children are properly guided.

“As we join and felicitate with our children today, let us always have it in mind that we have a duty to love, protect, and guide them towards the right path that would help them become responsible adults who would take over the baton from us in the future.

“As parents and leaders, we must deliberately invest our time and resources to ensure we prepare our children mentally, spiritually, and intellectually for the onerous responsibility of adulthood,” Engr. Ehiwarior emphasised.

He noted that, “we must continue to celebrate the joy, innocence and bright future of all our children,” adding that, “we must strive to build a world where every child is safe, educated and given a sense of pride and equal opportunity to excel in their chosen career.”
