Delta’s Economy Worth 15bn Dollars —Ojakovo

CHAIRMAN of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Delta State branch, Barr. Charles Osita Ojakovo, has rated Delta State as one of the fastest growing economies in the country, worth about 15 billion dollars or N6.2 trillion.

Speaking during a recent  interview with The Pointer, Ojakovo who is the CEO of Kingsclass Consulting Services, a pioneering consultancy firm in Asaba, Delta State capital, attributed the 15 billion dollars economy to the exemplary leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, especially investment attraction to the state, economic diversification efforts and provision of massive infrastructure to promote business and investment activities.

While responding to questions on the state of the economy, Ojakovo, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), among other professional honours, observed that Delta is the fourth largest economy in the country with about 15 billion dollars economy because the governor has largely diversified the economy.

“So I will encourage the state government to look beyond the N1 trillion budget in 2026. We should be looking at N1.5 trillion and pushing for the third largest economy in the country. This is achievable with more investments coming into the state”, he said.
