Delta Swimmers Impress, As Olise Wins Gold

DELTA State swimmers yesterday continued the state’s hunt for medals at the ongoing National Youth Games, as Endurance Olise struck gold in the male 50m butterfly swimming event.

Olise, who emerged champion in the keenly contested race, expressed gratitude for his achievement and promised to give his best with hopes of winning more gold medals.

In the female category, Delta’s Aniasaba Jennifer was outstanding, clinching four silver medals across multiple events: the 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, individual medley relay, and freestyle relay. She pledged to push harder in her subsequent races, with her sights set on gold.

Ebigide Success also made a strong impression in the pool, winning two silver in the 100m breaststroke and the 100m relay, and hopes to win a gold medal in her remaining races.

Similarly, Aduaye Destiny earned three silver medals in the 200m individual medley, freestyle relay, and individual medley relay, as well as a bronze in the 50m backstroke. She will compete in the 100m backstroke final today.

Speaking after their races, the female medalists collectively expressed joy for winning a medal but admitted they were determined to win a gold before the Games comes to a close.
