The Executive Chairman, Delta State Sports Commission, Hon Onoriode Oborevwori has officially Unveil Stanley Osazee as the Head Coach of Delta Queens Football Club, Asaba.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman, who made the unveiling in his office at the Stephen Keshi stadium, Asaba, noted that the decision was to ensure that the team improves their current position in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), and compete creditably among the very best teams in the league.
The Chairman asserted that every needed effort to make the Club rank among the foremost in the league would be made, knowing that there is always room for improvement no matter how good one could be.
The new coach, ‘Coach Shey’ as he is fondly called, while addressing newsmen, said that he was familiar with the Club and their antecedents in the history of NWFL and would do everything within his reach to make the team excel.
Osazee who was with Edo Queens in the previous two seasons before joining Insurance in the last season, disclosed that he knows Delta Queens have won the league and FA Cup several times and is one of the best women football teams in the country and would not do anything less.
The coach, while admitting that poor remuneration as one of the major reasons players desire to leave for foreign teams, noted that if their welfare was well packaged, the issue of mass exodus would cease to occur.
He assured that the Club has been doing well and he has come to add vigor to the already existing team’s goal.
In her remarks, the General Manager of the Club, Mrs. Awhana Mercy expressed joy over the new coach who she believes, would help improve on the lots of the players.
