Delta PRP Holds Peaceful State Congress, Elects New Executives

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Delta State chapter, has successfully conducted its state congress, resulting in the emergence of new state executive members.

The congress, held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the party’s secretariat in Asaba, was described by observers as peaceful and orderly.

According to a report jointly signed by the Chairman of the state Congress Committee, Patrick Chuka and Secretary, Shedrick Orose, the congress was supervised by members of the State Congress Committee.

The report noted that the CTC Chairman and the Woman Leader had resigned their positions three days before the congress.

The CTC Executive Committee was subsequently dissolved through a motion adopted at the congress.

Attendance at the congress comprised mainly delegates, aside from the aspirants, with a total of 32 participants recorded.

Each position had a single contestant, and elections were conducted through affirmation and voice vote.

At the end of the process, Dr. Ikechukwu Aloysius emerged as the elected State Chairman, while Chief Barr. Mrs. Juliet Montere Yeiware was elected as State Secretary.

The newly elected state executive members were thereafter sworn into office.

The congress was witnessed by representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies.

The Congress Committee expressed appreciation for the peaceful conduct of the exercise, affirming that the party has a formidable structure that would stand the test of time, especially with the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
