THE Delta State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 322 suspects across the state.
The suspects consist of 248 males and 74 females.
The State Commander of the NDLEA, Abubakar Wada, made this disclosure at the headquarters of the command in Ogwashi-Uku, while addressing journalists during the quarterly briefing on the achievements recorded by the command in the first quarter of 2025.
Wada noted that the command had seized a total of 1.3328 tonnes and 42.54 litres of illicit substances during the quarter.
The state commander also revealed that 76 convictions had been secured, while 197 drug users were counselled during the period under review.
He further explained that the command had established a rehabilitation centre, which currently has five clients, and had organised 55 sensitisation programmes during the period.
According to Wada, in April 2025 alone, 82 suspects were arrested, comprising 56 males and 26 females, alongside numerous other seizures, convictions, and arrests.
The Delta State Commander of the NDLEA warned youths, especially those involved in drug-related activities, to reconsider their actions and abandon the dangerous and illegal trade, as their lives were at significant risk.
