THE Delta State Government, through the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has conducted an oral interview for civil servants on Salary Grade Levels 05 to 10 who are due for promotion in January 2026. Their promotion will reflect in their salaries by January.
The oral interview was held at the CSC Complex, Asaba, with a total of 500 participants.
Speaking with newsmen, the Chairman of the CSC, Noble Roseline Amioku, explained that the main purpose of the exercise was to place those in the public service, who are due for promotion in their rightful positions.
She emphasised that there was no need for falsifying certificates. “We caught some people with fake certificates and they are automatically dismissed from the service,” she said, urging participants to do the right thing. According to her, upgrading to the next level is not compulsory, as officers can maintain the position on which they were originally employed.
Amioku commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his approval and continuous support towards the success of the exercise.
Speaking during the exercise, the fourth Commissioner of the CSC, Barr. Ikechukwu Maduemezie, disclosed that the promotion interview was a directive from the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
He stressed that all those in the Delta State Civil Service must work with their real ages, not falsified ones. “Civil servants who have tried reducing their age to fall in line with the rule of six to twelve years will be given their proper age of retirement,” Maduemezie said.
He added that some discrepancies relating to age falsification were discovered and those involved have been asked to obtain their genuine birth certificates or age declarations in accordance with their actual ages.
One of the participants, Mrs Maureen from the Ministry of Education, thanked the state government for organising the exercise, which she described as peaceful and stress-free.
